Moving from Ratecard.ly to Piku in four steps

The Piku teamUpdated   ·  2 min read

Ratecard.ly has told its users by email that it is closing. If your rate card lives there, you can bring it to Piku without typing it again.

In short
  • Download your data from Ratecard.ly. You get a zip.
  • Drop the zip into Piku. It is read on your device.
  • Tick what you want, keep your username if no one has it on Piku, and go.
  • Your Rates keep their own currency and price.
  • Piku is not part of Ratecard.ly. We built the import so your work is not lost.

Step 1: Download your Ratecard.ly data

On Ratecard.ly, open Settings and tap Download my data. Save the zip somewhere you can find it.

Piku's Bring my Ratecard.ly screen, with a place to add the zip and how to get the file
Piku shows the same three steps if you forget them.

Step 2: Open Piku

Create your page and tap Coming from Ratecard.ly? Bring it.

Step 3: Drop the zip

Add the zip. Piku reads it on your phone or laptop and shows what it found: your photo, name, bio, business email, Rates and links.

Here is what we found: photo, name, bio, business email and Rates, each with a tick
Everything starts ticked. Untick what you do not want.

A few things it tells you about:

  • A price written with a symbol, like ₵ or $, is read as a currency code. You can change it.
  • A custom quote with no price asks for a starting price, or you leave it out.
  • A Rate you had switched off comes in hidden.

On a laptop it is the same screen, wider.

Step 4: Tick and go

Pick your link. If no one has your Ratecard.ly username on Piku, it is yours. If someone does, Piku shows close ones you can take. Then tap Create my page.

Your link: the handle can be yours, then Create my page
Your page is ready: 3 Rates, 8 links, 2 old invoices and your photo
Done. The file is gone from your device's memory.

Already on Piku?

Bring it in from Settings. Nothing on your page changes until you tick it.

  1. Tap More, then Settings. Under Your data, tap Bring my Ratecard.ly.

  1. Tick what you want and tap Bring. Your name stays as it is unless you tick it, and anything you already brought over is left alone.

What you get on Piku

Your rate card was the start. On Piku the same page also does the rest of the job:

  • requests from clients, and quotes for each job;
  • deposits, invoices and pay links;
  • receipts and reminders that send themselves.

If you want to tidy your prices after the move, read how to make a rate card for any service.

If you change your mind

Your data is yours on Piku too. Settings, then Your data, then Export gives you everything in one zip. The export format is public.

Questions

What comes over from Ratecard.ly?

Your name, bio, photo, socials, business email, Rates with their currency and price, and links. Old invoices can come as a read-only list, and your visits as a summary.

What stays behind?

Your sign-in details, phone number, date of birth and payout details. Piku never reads them from the file.

Does my file go to Piku?

No. Piku reads the zip on your device and sends only what you tick. The file is dropped when you are done.

Can I keep my username?

Yes, if no one has it on Piku yet. If someone does, Piku shows close ones you can take.

What does Piku cost?

One yearly plan with every feature: $15 a year for founding members while seats last, then $50 a year. Your page opens for its first 10 visits before you pay.

I already have a Piku page. Can I still bring my Ratecard.ly?

Yes. Open Settings, then Your data, then Bring my Ratecard.ly. Only new things are ticked.
